Bring on the divas.
The ballot of 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees is topped by female icons – most as first-time candidates – along with classic rock superstars, hip-hop pioneers, and iconic funk and soul musicians.
The inductees will be announced in late April, with the ceremony returning to Cleveland this fall and again streaming live on Disney+.
To be eligible for a nomination, the artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.

10 artists are first-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees
This is the first-time ballot appearance for Cher, Carey, Sade, O’Connor, Foreigner, Frampton, Kool & The Gang, Kravitz, Oasis and Osbourne, who is already inducted as a member of Black Sabbath, which received its coronation in 2006.
Blige was previously nominated in 2021; Eric B. & Rakim haven’t been on the ballot since 2012; Jane’s Addiction was last considered in 2017; and A Tribe Called Quest will hope the third time is the charm, following nods in 2022 and 2023.
The Dave Matthews Band carries the distinction of being the only act that won the fan vote – as they did in 2020 – but was not included in the inductions that year. Previous fan vote winners include Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Duran Duran and last year, George Michael.
Cher recently told Kelly Clarkson on her talk show that she feels the Rock Hall snubbed her for many years.
"You know what, I wouldn't be in it now if they gave me a million dollars," she told Clarkson. "I'm never going to change my mind."
The date and ticket information for the ceremony will be forthcoming. In addition to the ceremony streaming live – as it did for the first time in 2023 – an edited version of the show will air on ABC and Hulu at a later date.
